Castelsardo, North Coast, Sardinia, Italy

Our villa in Italy is brand new for 2014 and has been rebuilt from the ground up from a an original villa dating back many years. Villa Della Felicita translates to mean the Villa of Happiness and from the moment you arrive you get a feeling of contentment and happiness.

We have tried to make the property light, modern and from an environmental perspective as eco-friendly as possible which is very much in keeping with the philosophy of the overall island.

This means extra features like the latest solar power energy system (Sardinia has over 300 days of sunshine a year!), low energy hot water systems, a salt water pool (whilst more expensive to install it means you and your children can enjoy soft-water bathing with no red eye issues and best of all you are not drenched in Chlorine which is nasty stuff- the salt levels are nothing like the sea as they are very mild). We also have a comprehensive organic garden and a 350 sqm astro sports area with tennis, football, putting and much more.

This is a very modern, new, airy property with plenty of light and full air conditioning through-out. There are four main living areas- those being the main living room, a second, a large 35 sqm first floor sun terrace and a covered 40 sqm ground floor patio terrace with outside kitchen area including cooker, sink, food preparation area and ample seating. The villa will be completed in March 2014- at that time we will provide further photos of the external aspects of the property as well the sports area, pool and gardens. The external photos provided are extremely accurate representations of the final look of the villa (in fact it will look even better).

The internal aspects of the villa are already 100% complete and with this villa you have lots of choices. If you choose, on arrival you can simply close the electric gates and stay put for a week or two. You have more than enough onsite to occupy everyone. From the great private sports facilities, tennis, 9 hole private golf putting green, basketball, pool, table tennis, football, a large swimming pool, orchards, vegetable gardens, full Internet wi-fi everywhere, Smart TV's, DVD's, Xbox 360, games, full air-conditioning, outside eating, luxury accommodation, a separate apartment and much more.

(The children and snokel off the various beaches and that is enough to totally amaze it is another world and we spend days and days exploring this way - never did it before Sardinia)

Hacks and excursions for all abilities and ages are available. It’s a fantastic way to explore the breathtaking mountain scenery and beaches. If you’re a beginner or an experienced rider this is a fantastic way to discover Sardinia and also explore areas that cannot be reached by car.

Fishing is great fun in itlay Sardinia, whether your a fishing enthusiast or just fancy trying it out with the kids, you can’t go wrong in Castelsardo and the surrounding areas. Fishing is very popular around the whole island but personally I found the harbor in Castelsardo to be the most enjoyable setting.

Only a 5-minute drive from the villa set around a beautiful harbor with fishing shops that cater for all you fishing needs.

Castelsardo harbor is the closest place to enquire about sailing trips or hiring in italy.

This is the villas to rent in sardinia

Castelsardo Marina is located just a 5-minute drive from the villa at the foot of a medieval village of Castelsardo. This port has 400 available places to moor vessels up to 30 meters in length and 4.5 meters draft. The navy has basic services covered such as electric power and water at each mooring, plus an advanced technical team and skilled attendance. Slipway amenities are also available such as, 10 tons crane, 50 tons travelift, technical services and selective waste collection. It also has ramp access for those who travel with light boats on trailers. By booking a berth at this port, you can make technical or leisure stop before continuing to other Mediterranean destinations.

There are beaches to suite everyone in Sardinia, from very popular busy beaches to great snorkeling beaches or very quiet beaches without a soul in sight. You can find areas like these all year round.

Popular beach destinations you should consider trying out while in Sardinia:

San Giovanni Di Sinis, Rena Bianca - Santa Teresa Di Gallura, San Teodoro, La Pelosa Beach – Stintino, Mari Pintau, Chia Beach, Arcipelago Della Maddalena, Tuerredda, Cala Goloritze, Cala Mariolu.

Cannonau wine is little known outside of Sardinia, making it a joy to discover – especially when combined with visits to friendly winemakers, homely restaurants and quiet beaches.

Winemakers to visit: Cantina Gostolai, Cantine di Orgosolo, Azienda Giuseppe Sedilesu, Poderi Atha Ruja, Fradiles, Co-operativa Turistica Enis, Co-operativa Turistica Enis, Ristorantino Masiloghi, Sant'Elene, Azienda Erlikes.

Different regions of the island are renowned for their craft traditions. Step into the bigger towns and you can almost guarantee some kind of market being on.

If markets aren’t your type of thing there are plenty of large-scale shopping centers in and around the cities of Sardinia. Sassari is the closest city to the villa, about a 30-minute drive away and has more than enough to offer from designer cloths shops to jewelry and much more.

Plenty of beautiful restaurants to chose from within 5-minuets from the villa but there are many to chose from around the surrounding areas and further afield.

Prices differ from place to place but generally food prices are extremely good considering the amazing quality of fresh food on offer, Sardinian’s are some of the longest lived humans in the world, this is thought to be due to their natural spring mineral water which is served in all restaurants and the fact that nearly all of their food is self produced on the island itself and fresh fish caught from the sea the same day as its served on a plate. The food is brilliant!
